What this site stores, and what it does not
Short version: this site sets no cookies, runs no analytics scripts, and carries no advertising trackers. Nothing here is sold, rented, or handed to a data broker. Most of what follows only applies if you choose to use one of the two tools.

The things I do not do
- No cookies are set by this site. You can check that in your browser's storage panel.
- No Google Analytics, no Meta pixel, no advertising or attribution scripts of any kind.
- No third-party JavaScript at all. Everything on the page is served from this domain.
- Your data is never sold, rented, or shared for marketing.
- No account, no login, and no profile is built about you.
Because no cookies are set and no tracking happens, there is no consent banner. A banner that asked permission for things this site does not do would be theatre.
The things I do store
Contact notes
When: Only if you fill in the contact form.
What: Your name, your email address, and the message you write.
Why: So I can reply to you.
How long: Until the conversation is finished and for a reasonable period after, in case you write again.
Fit Signal submissions
When: Only if you paste an opportunity into the Fit Signal tool.
What: The title you give it, a preview of the text you pasted, a hash of that text, the score it produced, and the report itself.
Why: So the tool can show you the result and so I can tell whether its scoring is any good.
How long: Until you delete it. The tool gives you a delete control, and it means it.
Page performance measurements
When: On every page view.
What: The metric and its value, the path and URL you were on, and your browser's user-agent string. No IP address is stored.
Why: So I can tell when a page has become slow for real people rather than only on my machine.
How long: Indefinitely, in aggregate. It is not tied to a person.
Security policy reports
When: Only when your browser blocks something the page tried to load.
What: The page URL and which rule was violated.
Why: So I find out if this site is ever compromised or misconfigured.
How long: Indefinitely. It is a small volume of technical noise.
Where it lives
This site runs on Cloudflare Workers, and the records above are stored in Cloudflare D1, their hosted SQLite. Cloudflare processes the request in order to serve the page to you, which is ordinary hosting rather than a data-sharing arrangement. Their privacy terms are their own.
Fit Signal may send the text you paste to a language model in order to produce a report. If it does, the report page says so. Do not paste anything confidential into it; treat it the way you would treat any text box on the internet.
What you can ask for
You can ask me what I hold about you, ask for a copy, or ask me to delete it, and I will. Fit Signal submissions have a delete control so you do not have to ask at all. For anything else, email shawntlenker@gmail.com and say what you want removed.
I am one person running a personal site, not a company with a compliance department. If something here is unclear or looks wrong, write to me and I will fix the page.
Other people's links
This site links out constantly, mostly to research and primary sources. Once you follow a link you are on someone else's site under someone else's terms, and I have no control over what they collect.
Changes
If what this site stores changes, this page changes in the same commit. The date at the top is the last time that happened.
